Curriculum Highlight

Year 12 Biology students have been learning about the structure of DNA and the process of DNA replication and Protein Synthesis. The structure of DNA was modelled using sherbet sticks and different coloured marshmallows that represented the sugar-phosphate backbone and the nitrogenous bases of DNA. They then created DNA sequenced friendship bracelets and had to find their complementary strand with another student in their class. These activities helped students to visualise the process in a fun and engaging way.
