Dear Parent/Carer
‘And rising up, he rebuked the wind, and said to the sea: Peace, be still. And the wind ceased: and there was a great calm.’
Mark 4:35-41
It is hoped that all within our College community are refreshed after the long weekend with a view to finishing the Term well. Our assessments are reaching their conclusion and staff are now putting together Semester reports. I commend our students on their work across the assessment period and I look forward to seeing strong performances across the College.
The next few weeks will see our Year 11 and Year 12 students involved in assessment blocks and I know that there has been significant preparation by our senior students leading up to these assessments and I wish them well.
I thank the College community for their input in the Tell Them From Me Survey and, more recently, the Principal 4th Year appraisal process. The Tell Them From Me Survey was well supported with over 85% of our students taking part. The data gathered is currently being collated and will be presented to the College community early next Term. We are particularly interested in how our students feel about their learning, and what we can do to make them feel more confident about the work they do in the classroom, their engagement with others within the College community and their plans into the future. Schools get the best out of their students when they feel they are able to contribute, they feel they are valued and have a voice around what takes place across their school. We can always do things better and the survey will provide us with themes which will be foundational to our actions into next Semester.
The Principal Appraisal Process commenced a number of weeks ago and concluded this week with a visit from an Appraisal Team who conducted a number of interviews with staff and parents/carers. I thank all those who took part in this important process as this information will be discussed with me as I endeavour to lead our learning community in a way that enables students to reach their potential and be highly aspirational in all aspects of their lives. We are gifted with tremendous teachers, great facilities and a regional community that supports what we do. With information provided from my appraisal I hope to continue to work in realising further success in all aspects of student College life into the future.
Kind regards
